Look, Santa came!
Stockings are my favorite part!
Christmas this year was a small affair, but that's ok. Rich being out of work gave us the opportunity to focus on the true meaning of Christmas and to start a tradition that we hope to keep up. We decided that our boys would get 3 gifts, just as the Wise Men gave Jesus three gifts. Devon only asked Santa for one thing this year, the "same Octomis Prime as Levi" or, in adult language, a remote control Optimus Prime truck. Santa didn't disapoint. Devon also got a nerf gun and some clothes. Aiden got a little tonka train set, some wooden puzzles, and some clothes. Magoo was more interested in his stocking stuffers than anything else, so Mommy and Daddy had to help him unwrap. It was a really great morning to share with our boys. Later that day, Grandma and Grandpa treated the whole family to Alvin and the Chipmunks: the Squeakquel. Devon loved it, but Aiden was wiggly and Richard had to take him out to keep him happy.
Despite the trials that we've experienced since Richard was laid off, we have been immensely blessed. It was a joy for Richard and I to watch our boys open their few presents and to know that even though we are struggling, we can still provide some of life's pleasures to our little ones. The Lord has truly blessed us this holiday season.
